Azad Kishori
Overview
The Azad Kishori programme involves adolescent girls in India, with the goal of empowering them through education, skill development, and leadership training. This programme focuses on addressing challenges faced by young girls in marginalized communities and aims to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their lives. The Azad Kishori programme covers topics such as menstrual health, sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, life skills, STEM education and non-traditional vocational training to prepare girls for a brighter future. By investing in the education and empowerment of adolescent girls, the programme aims to break the cycle of poverty and empower them to reach their full potential.
The Azad Kishori programme also engages with parents of adolescent leaders to motivate them to support their daughters and encourage their neighbours and community to do the same.
